But If Not...

Three Hebrew children were threatened by the king:
"You'll get thrown into the fire if you don't bow to me."
"Our GOD will deliver: He's mighty to save, and strong;
But if not, we'll still serve Him and keep ourselves from wrong."

They were thrown into the fire, looked like they'd met their doom
But GOD honored the faith of His children during the gloom.
The king who wanted the three to bow only to him that day
Looked down into the pit and saw a fourth man in the way.

The earthly king recognized the King of all kings was there
When they pulled the boys out, not even the smell of smoke was in their hair.
GOD is able to heal me! He is able to deliver too --
He is also able to bring the miracle desired of you!

He is able to do exceedingly far and above what we can imagine
He is not a respector of persons; whether Indian; Black; or Caucasian.
Our GOD, JEHOVAH-JIREH pulled us all out of the mire:
It is a wee small thing for Him to protect us in the fire.

We're all in this together, for we each suffer in similar ways
And each of us are waiting for a touch from the Ancient of Days.
He is able to turn the tide and guide us safely to shore;
But if not, still we will keep our eyes on the Lighthouse once more.

GOD rides on the wings of the wind, so fear not while it is blowing:
He sees your ship tossing about; and He knows right where it's going.

Be encouraged you weary saints, for I suffer too
You and I are not alone; for you have me, and I have you!
Both of us have a Father Who will not and cannot fail:
Without the wind, my dear friend, our ship could not sail.

Hi Dawn,

I loved the story of Shadrack, Meshack, and Obendigo as a small child. What is the Old Testament book and the chapter and the verses of this story? I have the children's story, but I'd like to read it in the KJV again too. Guess I might just look it up in the Concordance.

Enjoyed the read!!!

Peggy

Dear Mama Jaybird, and Peggy, I do so apoligize for not knowing your comments were here. You both are very sweet and dear to my heart for reading and commenting on this. Peggy, you will find the story of these 3 boys and the 4th One in the fire, in Daniel Chapter 3 dear. Thank you so much for your comment.

Dear Peggy, you're welcome. It's a great story! You remind me of David in the Bible who had a heart after GOD's Heart. -Dawn

Job 23:10
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
