Beauty

Covet not beauty.
It wanes and passes away.
It is vanity.

How true! Nice..... Very nice! You really are a prolific writer.
Sorry I don't post many. I'm busy these last days. My mentor is busier than me. He always read my work before I post it and give me some suggestions. See? I'm still learning. lol. He says winter is literature time... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Dear Helen,

Thank you for reading and commenting. Literature time is whenever you have the time. Soon school will start for you again, and you won't have much time. Hopefully you are writing, now and keeping it, until your mentor has more time, to check it for you. We are all still learning. One never gets to old to learn, my friend.

How true that is, Jan.

Outward beauty has a short-lived reign, and beauty without virtue is like a flower without fragrance. Perhaps that is why the union of beauty and modesty is so rare.

Wise words indeed, Jan! Beauty or goods looks are indeed transitory and rely more on the heart and soul of the person than on the passage of time. When I look at someone I nearly always concentrate on his/her eyes for there is where I see reflections of the soul deep within. So to me true beauty lies in the soul's reflections as shown in the eyes. Not in the color of them, but in the expression and depth of them.

Enjoyed and profitted from reading your wise words! Shows much depth of understanding!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Hi Peggy and Roy,

Thank you both for reading and commenting. I am please to see that you both understood my meaning in this short verse. Yes, beauty in only skin deep, and does fade with time. It is the inwardness of a person where true beauty lies. Yes, Peggy to me the eyes are the windows to the soul, and that is where true beauty resides.

Blessings Jan Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
