Enjoying Spring? I am and was enjoying Charlie Chaplin's movie called,
"Limelight" on Free Films (FFilms.org.) Anyway, evidently he had included a really cute poem. I tried to find who wrote it and the conclusion I have reached is that Charlie himself wrote it. If anyone can find an author other than Charlie Chaplin who can substantiate it's authorship, I would definitely be impressed. I tried, but I couldn't come up with anything, except that exceptional Brit, Sir Charles Chaplin. Good luck. Here's the poem.
Ode to a Worm.
Oh! Worm! Why do you turn into the earth from me?
Tis Spring! Oh, worm.
Lift up your head, whichever end it may be,
And smile at the sun!
And twine your naked form,
And with your tail fling high the dirt,
In ecstasies to Spring,
Tis Spring...Tis Spring...

Some of you may wonder why I had began posting fewer and fewer posts. Well, I will uncover the reason, as I am a bit of a recluse these days. Two years ago, I began to have vision problems, some of you may have noticed. Then about a year ago, my vision problems became so pronounced, I stopped driving for fear of having an accident due to not being able to see vehicles over 20 feet away. So, for over a year, I had to stop driving. Then, as a vet. I saw my Dr about my vision and going thru hoops at the VA for about a 9 month back up, due to so many others waiting, I finally managed to have Cataract surgery on both eyes. I am happy to inform everyone that my vision is much improved with 20/20 vision in my right eye, well almost anyway. And, my left eye is also very much improved. I still will need eye glasses to read with, but as I type this I am not using my glasses because I haven't received them from the VA yet. I should get them next month. So, I am very happy and very glad to be driving again. If anyone out there is suffering from low vision, you have my prayers. (everardo means Everett in Spanish...I am of Hispanic and English descent. We must remember where we came from...)

Oh, Ev, so happy to hear that your vision has improved so much!!! Do you think you might be able to drive when you get your glasses? It's great to have you on PDB again!!!

My first operation on my left eye happened in March 26, 2014. Soon afterward, I began driving, just using my left eye. I shuttered my right eye because I favor my right eye. My brain would rather use my right eye, even though it still had to look through the cataract that was there, at that time. I was seeing rather well thru my left eye, tho. Now, that I've had surgery thru my right eye, my brain is happy. No need to shutter my left eye, tho. Still waiting for my glasses, but I can see to type. I only will be using my glasses to read. I do notice not being able to read, if I read too long, as my eyes begin to get tired. I can drive without any problems and I can read the road signs very well. Before, I couldn't read road signs and I couldn't distinguish large trucks, buses, even yellow school buses and I realized I needed to get off the road before I killed someone, especially myself. So, I got myself a driver. Luckily, I lived with my sister for awhile, so it wasn't a problem. She was very understanding and now, I can live by myself and I can drive and do for myself. I was missing being self-reliant.
