~Reasons To Smile ~

We can't help but miss the ones we love,
even when we know they're smiling from above.
Looking down on us, missing our smiles, too.
Wishing they could hugs us again, if only we knew.

Trying so hard to let us know that they are okay.
To give us comfort and help us thru each day.
There is so much sorrow in being so far apart.
However smile, for now they are blessing your heart.

At times when I smile I will be thinking about you,
and all of the great fun things we use to do.
You will never be forgotten my friend, Sam I am.
You were such a caring and loving Godly man.

This is dedicated to my friend, Sam I am. Sam went to live in
heaven last week. Sam was born on Dr. Seuss' birthday.
My daughter always called him, Sam I am. Sam will be
greatly missed.

Great poem not of sorrow but of joy and a most fitting dedication J.J. Thanks for sharing. coffee

Hi Cyrille,

Yes, you are right, I think a persons life should be celebrated with joy.
Yes, sadness was and is still there also.
But, Sam's life was a life worth celebrating.

Blessings J.J. Very Happy / Crying or Very sad

Dear Jan,

I'm so sorry you lost Sam, but as you say in the poem, he's smiling now. This poem is a very nice tribute to a friend who is still well-loved. I think the beauty of it is that love outlives death, and he still loves you too.

If the sadness comes, read your poem and remember the good times!!!

Peggy

Dear Peggy,

It was so unexpected. Sam was run over by a car. He was still a fairly young man, just in his early 50's. Yes, I will remember the good times.
There are many good times for all to remember who knew Sam.

Blessings Jan
