Potluck Children's Literary Magazine

Potluck Magazine publishes poetry, short stories, fables, book reviews, and artwork by young writers and artist ages 8-16– though we do consider and have published works from writers as young as four and as old as 18. Since 1997, writers and artists from around the world have filled each issue with an array of hopes and dreams, humor, and imagination. Potluck’s educational and professional forum encourages young writers to express themselves freely and creatively, while teaching them their craft. Written by professional writers, instructors, and Potluck’s own editors, our “Creative Corner” has helped and inspired hundreds of young writers by strengthening and building their writing skills. Our “Editor’s Notebook” covers topics ranging from “writers’ rights” to presenting work in a professional manner, to looking into oneself to better understand others- thus creating a richness not in ones writing, but ones life as well. Potluck receives nearly 600 submissions each issue and our editors read and respond to each one. Those writers or artists not published, receive a personal letter along with a critique of their work that is constructive, instructive, and positive!
