Publisher Database Launches Free Services for Writers, Artists, Poets, and Photographers
SAN JOSE, California - April 25, 2005 - PublisherDatabase.com announced the availability of its flagship services for literary and artistic professionals. The free offerings include a query tracking tool, discussion forums, and a member-maintained database of magazines and other relevant markets.
Members are Able to Participate
The magazine database is unique in that it leverages a concept familiar to the
Open Source community: members are able to control the listings themselves, and
those changes ripple out to the rest of the members. Tony Boyd, creator of
Publisher Database, commented, "The magazine database starts small but expands
quickly as the community takes an active role."
The query tracking tool assists those seeking publication, by logging data about each contact with an editor, publisher, or gallery owner. Over time, reports can show helpful trends, such as which editor is most likely to want a particular type of work, or how long each editor takes to respond.
The forums, query tracker, and magazine database are all offered for free, to inspire community involvement. In key areas, clickable icons are displayed to allow members the option to support the site financially. However, no fees are required.
