Founded in November 2004 and launched 5 months later, Publisher Database provides tools and services to professional writers, artists, photographers, and poets. Built by founder Tony Boyd, the site integrates community collaboration to allow for rapid development and expansion of the site's content.
Principal Services
Publisher Database's online query tracker offers a way to track each interaction with an editor,
publisher, or gallery owner. Over time, reports can show helpful trends, such
as which editor is most likely to want a particular type or work, or how long
each editor takes to respond.
The magazine database is actually more broad than just magazines, accommodating newspapers, art galleries, and other paying markets. The database is community-maintained, allowing members to enhance the listings themselves. The database is searchable.
The discussion forums provide a gathering place for creative people to chat about their craft. From critiques of their work to suggestions for appropriate markets to contact, members are encouraged to solicit the feedback needed to be successful.
